1. What SnelRij does
SnelRij is an online platform that puts customers who need something delivered urgently in touch with self-employed couriers. SnelRij is an intermediary: the transport contract is made between the customer and the courier the customer chooses. SnelRij does not carry out deliveries itself.
2. Requests and price
The customer enters the addresses, the item and the desired time, and then sees the offers of available couriers. Each courier sets their own rate. The price the customer sees consists of the courier’s rate and SnelRij’s service fee. An offer is valid for a limited time.
3. Payment
The customer pays up front when placing the request, through our payment partner Mollie. The courier’s share goes through Mollie straight to the courier; SnelRij does not hold other people’s money.
4. Accepting, declining and cancelling
After payment, the chosen courier receives the request. The courier may accept or decline it. If the courier declines or does not respond in time, the customer automatically gets the full amount back. The customer can cancel a request free of charge as long as the courier has not accepted it. After acceptance only SnelRij can cancel the job, for example after a report; SnelRij then decides whether and which amount is refunded.
5. What is not carried
Not allowed are, among other things, alcohol, tobacco, medicines, dangerous goods, prohibited or stolen goods and items with a declared value above the maximum shown when ordering. The customer makes sure the item is packed properly and described correctly.
6. Delivery and proof
On delivery the courier takes a photo and notes the name of the recipient. The customer can follow the job on the tracking page.
7. Problems and complaints
Customer and courier can report a problem with an order. A member of SnelRij staff reviews the report and takes a decision, with a (partial) refund where needed. Every decision is recorded with a reason.
8. For couriers
Couriers work as self-employed businesses. They set their own rate, their area and which jobs they accept. Declining a request or letting it expire has no consequences. Couriers may also work for other platforms and their own customers. SnelRij sets no clothing, logo or conduct rules, only the legal requirements: couriers are 18 or older, registered with the Chamber of Commerce, hold a certificate of conduct (VOG) and the insurance and driving licence their vehicle requires. A member of SnelRij staff checks the documents; approval, rejection and suspension are always decided by a person, with a reason.
9. Ratings
After a delivered order the customer can rate the courier once with a score and a comment. Ratings are publicly visible with the courier’s offers, without the customer’s name.
10. Liability
The courier is responsible for carrying out the job and is insured for it. As an intermediary, SnelRij is not liable for damage during transport, except in case of intent or gross negligence by SnelRij itself. The exact arrangement will be set after legal review.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by Dutch law.
